આ ટૂંકું રક્ષાત્મક સૂક્ત બ્રહ્મણશક્તિથી સશક્ત થયેલા અગ્નિને રક્ષોહા (વૈરી/દુષ્ટ શક્તિઓનો સંહારક) રૂપે આહ્વાન કરે છે, જેથી ગર્ભમાં પ્રવેશી ગર્ભધારણા અને સંતાનને ધમકી આપતી હોવાનું માનવામાં આવતી ક્ષયકારક, દુર્નામવાળી હાજરીને હાંકી કાઢી શકાય. તેમાં ઘાતક પ્રવેશના અનેક રૂપોનું નામ લેવાય છે—શરીરમાં છુપાઈ રહેવું, યોનિમાં અંદરથી સરકતાં ઘૂસવું, અને સ્વપ્ન તથા અંધકાર દ્વારા મોહ/ભ્રમ પેદા કરવો—અને વારંવાર દૂર કરનાર શક્તિને આ જોખમને દૂર હાંકી દેવા આદેશ આપે છે. પ્રજનનક્ષમતા, ગર્ભાવસ્થા અને કુળપરંપરાની અવિચ્છિન્નતા સુરક્ષિત રાખવા માટે આ સૂક્ત ભૂતબાધા-નિવારક તથા ઉપચારાત્મક પ્રાર્થના તરીકે કાર્ય કરે છે.

ब्रह्मणाग्निः संविदानो रक्षोहा बाधतामितः । अमीवा यस्ते गर्भं दुर्णामा योनिमाशये ॥
બ્રહ્મણાથી—મંત્રબળથી—અગ્નિ, સમ્યક્ સંવિદિત, રક્ષોહા, અહીંથી દૂર હાંકી દે; જે અમીવા દુર્ણામા તારા ગર્ભમાં આશ્રયે છે, યોનિમાં શયન કરે છે.
Mantra 2
यस्ते गर्भममीवा दुर्णामा योनिमाशये । अग्निष्टं ब्रह्मणा सह निष्क्रव्यादमनीनशत् ॥
જે તારો ગર્ભ અમીવા—દુર્નામા—યોનિમાં આશ્રયે છે, તેને અગ્નિ બ્રહ્મણાં (મંત્રશક્તિ) સહીત બહાર હાંકી કાઢે છે; કાચાપણું અને દૂષણ ભક્ષનારની જેમ તેને ચકનાચૂર કરી દૂર કરે છે.

यस्ते हन्ति पतयन्तं निषत्स्नुं यः सरीसृपम् । जातं यस्ते जिघांसति तमितो नाशयामसि ॥
જે ઉડાન ભરતું હોય તેને જે ઘાયલ કરે, જે હજી સ્થિર થતું હોય તેને જે હણે, જે સરિસૃપ (રेंગતું) વૃદ્ધિરૂપ છે તેને જે આક્રમણ કરે—અને જે તારા માટે જન્મેલાને મારવા ઇચ્છે—તેને અહીંથી અમે નાશ કરીએ છીએ.

यस्त ऊरू विहरत्यन्तरा दम्पती शये । योनिं यो अन्तरारेळ्हि तमितो नाशयामसि ॥
જે તારા ઊરુઓની વચ્ચે ભટકે છે, દંપતીની વચ્ચે શયન કરે છે; જે યોનિની અંદરથી અંદર ઘૂસી આવે છે—તેને અમે અહીંથી નાશ કરીએ છીએ.

यस्त्वा भ्राता पतिर्भूत्वा जारो भूत्वा निपद्यते । प्रजां यस्ते जिघांसति तमितो नाशयामसि ॥
જે તારી પાસે છદ્મથી આવે છે—‘ભાઈ’ બની, ‘પતિ’ બની, ‘જાર’ બની—અને જે તારી પ્રજાને ઘાત કરવા ઇચ્છે છે, તેને અમે અહીંથી નાશ કરીએ છીએ.

यस्त्वा स्वप्नेन तमसा मोहयित्वा निपद्यते । प्रजां यस्ते जिघांसति तमितो नाशयामसि ॥
જે સ્વપ્ન અને તમસાથી તને મોહીત કરી તારી પાસે આવી પડે છે, અને જે તારી પ્રજાને ઘાત કરવા ઇચ્છે છે—તેને અમે અહીંથી નાશ કરીએ છીએ.
