Rama’s Justification to Vali on Rājadharma
मद्दोषकृतदोषां तां यथा तारां तपस्विनीम्।सुग्रीवो नावमन्येत तथाऽवस्थातुमर्हसि।।
maddoṣa-kṛta-doṣāṃ tāṃ yathā tārāṃ tapasvinīm | sugrīvo nāvamanyeta tathā avasthātum arhasi ||
મારા દોષથી દુઃખ પામેલી તે તપસ્વિની તારા વિષે—સુગ્રીવ તેને અવમાનિત કે અપમાનિત ન કરે; તે પીડિત સ્ત્રીનું યથોચિત સન્માન થાય તેમ તું જ વ્યવસ્થા કર.
'I hope Tara will not be made to suffer because of my offence. Make Sugriva not to run wretched Tara down.
