FAQs

It links Ayodhyā with a specific pilgrimage site identified as Śakra’s (Indra’s) famed tīrtha, showing how Purāṇic texts map holiness onto well-known cities through named tīrthas.

The verse functions like a phala-śruti (statement of benefits): it motivates pilgrimage and sacred observance by describing auspicious results (prosperity, charm, and attainment of a renowned tīrtha).

It teaches that approaching sacred places and performing prescribed religious acts is believed to yield tangible and intangible fruits—encouraging disciplined spiritual practice through pilgrimage.
