नामतः कर्मतश्चैव सुदरिद्रस्य ते सुताः । तपसे बुद्धिरभवत्तेषां वै द्विजजन्मनां

nāmataḥ karmataścaiva sudaridrasya te sutāḥ | tapase buddhirabhavatteṣāṃ vai dvijajanmanāṃ

અતિ દરિદ્ર એવા પુરુષના તે પુત્રો—નામથી અને કર્મથી પણ—તપસ્યા તરફ વળ્યા; અને એ જ સાધનાથી તેમણે દ્વિજત્વ (બ્રાહ્મણત્વ) પ્રાપ્ત કર્યું.
