Manifestation of the Śrī Vāsudeva Hymn in the Glory of Guru-tīrtha

Cyavana Narrative within the Vena Episode

यस्यापि पादांभसि मज्जमानाः पूता दिवं यांति विकल्मषास्ते । मोक्षं लभंते मुनयः सुतुष्टास्तं वासुदेवं शरणं प्रपद्ये

yasyāpi pādāṃbhasi majjamānāḥ pūtā divaṃ yāṃti vikalmaṣāste | mokṣaṃ labhaṃte munayaḥ sutuṣṭāstaṃ vāsudevaṃ śaraṇaṃ prapadye

Unspecified in the provided excerpt (a devotional narrator/reciter praising Vāsudeva).

Concept: Contact with the Lord’s sanctifying ‘foot-water’ purifies sin and supports both heavenly ascent and liberation; ultimate refuge is śaraṇāgati to Vāsudeva.

Application: Adopt a ‘refuge practice’: daily namaskāra and remembrance; in ritual, honor caraṇāmṛta/pāda-tīrtha with reverence and ethical renewal (avoid returning to pāpa).

Primary Rasa: shanta

Secondary Rasa: karuna

Type: tirtha

Visual Art Cues: {"scene_description":"A devotee kneels at the edge of a luminous basin where water has just washed the Lord’s feet, the surface shimmering with a subtle lotus pattern. V
Vāsudeva

FAQs

It refers to sacred “foot-water” associated with the Lord—symbolically the purifying grace that flows from surrender to Vāsudeva, often linked with tīrtha-ideas of cleansing sin and inner impurity.

It culminates in “taṃ vāsudevaṃ śaraṇaṃ prapadye” (“I take refuge in Vāsudeva”), presenting surrender as the core act through which purification, heavenly merit, and even liberation become attainable.

It teaches that humility and surrender purify the heart: by turning to the Lord (rather than relying on ego), one becomes free from moral stain and progresses toward higher spiritual ends, including mokṣa.
