FAQs

It implies not merely traveling to holy places, but completing the intended religious purpose there—such as bathing, vows, worship, and other prescribed observances—so the pilgrimage is considered spiritually “accomplished.”

The mention suggests organized travel and safe passage—pilgrimages and long journeys were often undertaken with caravans led by an experienced guide or merchant leader, indicating practical aspects of tīrtha-yātrā.

The verse underscores perseverance in sacred duty (finishing the pilgrimage properly) and the resulting inner joy—spiritual practices, when completed with sincerity, culminate in contentment and upliftment.
