Glory of Puruṣottama: Pañcatīrthī Observance and Narasiṃha Worship
sudehabhrūṇahatyādi kṛtvā divyena śudhyati | mahāgrahagṛhīteṣu jvalamānaṃ viciṃtayet || 112 ||
Narada (teaching within a Tirtha/ritual-purification discourse)
Vrata: none
Primary Rasa: karuna
Secondary Rasa: shanta
It asserts that even severe wrongdoing can be purified through a divinely sanctioned sacred means, and it links inner contemplation (meditation on a radiant divine power) with cleansing and relief from afflictive forces.
By prescribing contemplation on a blazing divine presence, it emphasizes turning the mind toward the Divine as a transformative act—purifying the heart and countering fear and suffering.
It reflects Jyotiṣa (Vedic astrology) notions of graha-affliction (graha-grahaṇa) and presents a remedial approach centered on dhyāna (meditative upāya) alongside ritual purity themes.
