upavītam alaṅkāraṃ karakañ caiva varjayet |

caturdaśyāṃ tathāṣṭamyāṃ pañcadaśyāñ ca parvasu ||

Translation

ચતુર્દશી, અષ્ટમી અને પૂર્ણિમા તથા વ્રત‑ઉત્સવના દિવસે યજ્ઞોપવીતનું પ્રદર્શન, આભૂષણો અને કંકણ ધારણ કરવું ત્યજવું જોઈએ।
