Virāṭa-parva Adhyāya 54 — Missile-Exchange and Tactical Redirection

स चापि पार्थ बहुभि: पृषत्कै- वैंकर्तनो मेघ इवाभ्यवर्षत् । तथैव कर्ण च किरीटमाली संछादयामास शितै: पृषत्कैः
sa cāpi pārtha bahubhiḥ pṛṣatkaiḥ vaikarṇano megha ivābhyavarṣat | tathaiva karṇaṃ ca kirīṭamālī saṃchādayāmāsa śitaiḥ pṛṣatkaiḥ ||
વૈશમ્પાયન બોલ્યા—વૈકર્તન કર્ણે પણ પાર્થ અર્જુન પર વાદળની જેમ અનેક બાણોની વર્ષા કરી. એ જ રીતે કિરીટધારી અર્જુને પણ તીક્ષ્ણ શરોથી કર્ણને ઢાંકી દીધો.
