युधिछिर उवाच धर्म एव हतो हन्ति धर्मो रक्षति रक्षित: । तस्माद् धर्म न त्यजामि मा नो धर्मो हतोडवधीत्
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | dharma eva hato hanti dharmo rakṣati rakṣitaḥ | tasmād dharma na tyajāmi mā no dharmo hato ’vadhīt ||
યુધિષ્ઠિરે કહ્યું—ધર્મનો નાશ કરશો તો નષ્ટ થયેલો ધર્મ જ નાશ કરનારને પણ નાશ કરે છે; અને ધર્મનું રક્ષણ કરશો તો રક્ષિત ધર્મ જ રક્ષકનું રક્ષણ કરે છે. તેથી હું ધર્મનો ત્યાગ કરતો નથી—ક્યાંક નષ્ટ થયેલો ધર્મ મને જ નાશ ન કરી દે.
