उद्योगपर्व — विदुरनीतिः (Adhyāya 37): आयुःक्षयहेतवः, नीतिसूत्राणि, बलभेदाः, पाण्डव-विग्रहदोषदर्शनम्
नित्यं सन्तः कुले जाता: पावकोपमतेजस:
nityaṁ santaḥ kule jātāḥ pāvakopama-tejasaḥ
વિદુર કહે છે—આ વંશમાં નિત્ય સચ્ચા સદ્ગુણી પુરુષો જન્મે છે, જેમનું તેજ અગ્નિ સમાન છે; એટલે ઉદાર આચરણ અને ધર્મબળ સંયોગ નથી, પરંતુ વારંવાર પ્રગટ થતી વારસાગત પરંપરા છે—જે વર્તમાન પસંદગીઓને માર્ગ બતાવે.
