Shloka 75
राजन! भरतश्रेष्ठ! हरिवंशपर्वमें भी प्रत्येक पारणके समय ब्राह्मणोंको यथावत् रूपसे खीर भोजन कराये ।।
rājan bharataśreṣṭha harivaṁśaparvaṇi api pratyeka-pāraṇa-kāle brāhmaṇān yathāvat kṣīra-bhojanaṁ bhojayet. samāpya sarvāḥ prayataḥ saṁhitāḥ śāstra-kovidaḥ śubhe deśe niveśya atha kṣaumavastrābhisaṁvṛtāḥ.
વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા—હે રાજન, ભરતશ્રેષ્ઠ! હરિવંશ-પર્વમાં પણ દરેક પારણ સમયે બ્રાહ્મણોને યથાવિધિ પાયસ (ખીર) ભોજન કરાવવું જોઈએ. સર્વ સંહિતાઓનું પ્રયત્નપૂર્વક સમાપન કરીને શાસ્ત્રકુશળ પુરુષે તેમને સુક્ષ્મ ક્ષૌમ/રેશમી વસ્ત્રમાં લપેટી શુભ સ્થાને સ્થાપિત કરવી. ત્યારબાદ સ્નાનાદિથી શુદ્ધ થઈ શ્વેત વસ્ત્ર, પુષ્પમાળા અને આભૂષણ ધારણ કરીને ચંદન, માલ્ય વગેરે ઉપચારોથી તે સંહિતા-પુસ્તકોની અલગ અલગ રીતે વિધિપૂર્વક પૂજા કરવી. પૂજાકાળે ચિત્ત એકાગ્ર અને શુદ્ધ રાખીને ઉત્તમ ભક્ષ્ય, ભોજન, પેય, માલ્ય તથા અન્ય મનોહર વસ્તુઓ ભેટરૂપે અર્પણ કરવી.
