Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 5 — Karmaphala-Nirdeśa and Phalāśruti (कर्मफलनिर्देशः फलश्रुतिश्च)
नित्यसिद्ध मोक्षस्वरूप भगवान् कृष्णद्वैपायनने धर्मकी कामनासे इस महाभारतसंदर्भकी रचना की है ।।
vaiśampāyana uvāca |
ṣaṣṭiṁ śata-sahasrāṇi cakārānyāṁ sa saṁhitām |
triṁśac-chata-sahasrāṇi deva-loke pratiṣṭhitam |
વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા—નિત્યસિદ્ધ મોક્ષસ્વરૂપ ભગવાન કૃષ્ણદ્વૈપાયને ધર્મની કામનાથી આ મહાભારત-સંદર્ભની રચના કરી. તેમણે પ્રથમ સાઠ લાખ શ્લોકોની એક સંહિતા બનાવી; તેમાંના ત્રીસ લાખ શ્લોકોની સંહિતા દેવલોકમાં પ્રતિષ્ઠિત થઈ.
