कूटशाल्मलिकं चापि दुःस्पर्श तीक्ष्णकण्टकम्‌ । ददर्श चापि कौन्तेयो यातना: पापकर्मिणाम्‌

Transliteration

kūṭaśālmalikaṃ cāpi duḥsparśa-tīkṣṇa-kaṇṭakam | dadarśa cāpi kaunteyo yātanāḥ pāpa-karmiṇām ||

Translation

વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા—કૌંતેયે કૂટ-શાલ્મલી વૃક્ષો પણ જોયા, જે સ્પર્શ કરવા દુષ્કર અને તીક્ષ્ણ કાંટાઓથી ભરેલા હતા; તેમજ ત્યાં પાપકર્મીઓ પર થતી કઠોર યાતનાઓ પણ તેણે જોઈ.
