राज्ञो वृत्त-गुण-संग्रहः (Conduct and the Thirty-Six Virtues of a King) / The King’s Code of Conduct
सेवेत प्रणयं हित्वा दक्ष: स्यान्न त्वकालवित् । सान्त्वयेन्न च मोक्षाय अनुगह्नन्न चाक्षिपेत्
bhīṣma uvāca | seveta praṇayaṃ hitvā dakṣaḥ syān na tv akālavit | sāntvayen na ca mokṣāya anugṛhṇan na cākṣipet ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—હઠ ત્યજી યોગ્ય સ્નેહ-સંબંધ રાખવો, પરંતુ આસક્તિનો દાસ ન બનવું. કાર્યમાં કુશળ રહેવું અને અવસરનું જ્ઞાન પણ રાખવું. માત્ર જવાબદારીમાંથી છૂટવા માટે કોઈને સાંત્વના કે આશ્વાસન ન આપવું. અને કૃપા કરતાં સમયે ટોણો કે આક્ષેપ ન કરવો।
