याज़्ञवल्क्य उवाच
This line is a colophon marking the end of a chapter; it signals that the chapter’s instruction is framed as a dialogue between the sage Yājñavalkya and King Janaka within the Mokṣa-dharma portion of Śānti Parva, emphasizing liberation-oriented dharma and reflective inquiry.
The text formally concludes the chapter, identifying its placement (Śānti Parva → Mokṣa-dharma section) and its subject (the dialogue of Yājñavalkya and Janaka), functioning as an editorial/narrative closure rather than a spoken verse of doctrine.
