नाहं शप्त: प्रतिशपामि कंचिद्‌ दम द्वारं हामृतस्येह वेझि । गुहां ब्रह्म तदिदं ब्रवीमि न मानुषाच्छेछतरं हि किंचित्‌

Transliteration

nāhaṁ śaptaḥ pratiśapāmi kañcid dama-dvāraṁ hy amṛtasyeha viddhi | guhāṁ brahma tad idaṁ bravīmi na mānuṣāc chreṣṭhataraṁ hi kiñcit ||

Translation

હંસે કહ્યું—મને કોઈ શાપ આપે તો પણ હું પ્રતિશાપ આપતો નથી. ઇન્દ્રિયસંયમ જ અમૃતત્વ (મોક્ષ)નું દ્વાર છે—એ જાણો. હવે હું તમને એક પરમ ગુપ્ત સત્ય કહું છું—માનવજન્મથી શ્રેષ્ઠ કંઈ નથી.
