Adhyāya 283: Varṇa-vṛtti, Nyāya-ārjana, and the Decline-and-Restoration of Dharma (वर्णवृत्तिः न्यायार्जनं च)
आधावन्ति प्रधावन्ति वायुवेगा मनोजवा: । चूर्ण्यन्ते यज्ञपात्राणि दिव्यान्याभरणानि च
ādhāvanti pradhāvanti vāyuvegā manojavāḥ | cūrṇyante yajñapātrāṇi divyāny ābharaṇāni ca ||
વાયુના વેગ અને મનની ગતિ સમાન ઝડપી એવા અનેક પારષદો અહીં-ત્યાં દોડવા લાગ્યા. યજ્ઞના પાત્રો ચૂર્ણ-ચૂર્ણ થઈ રહ્યા હતા અને દિવ્ય આભૂષણો પણ તૂટી-ફૂટી રહ્યા હતા.
