प्रभवार्थाय भूतानां धर्मप्रवचनं कृतम्‌ । यः स्यात्‌ प्रभवसंयुक्त: स धर्म इति निश्चय:

Transliteration

prabhavārthāya bhūtānāṃ dharmapravacanaṃ kṛtam | yaḥ syāt prabhavasaṃyuktaḥ sa dharma iti niścayaḥ ||

Translation

પ્રાણીઓના અભ્યুদય અને કલ્યાણ માટે જ ધર્મનું પ્રવચન કરવામાં આવ્યું છે. તેથી જે આ હેતુ સાથે સંયુક્ત હોય—જે લોકહિત અને પરમશ્રેય સિદ્ધ કરે—તે જ ધર્મ છે; શાસ્ત્રજ્ઞોનો આ સ્થિર નિશ્ચય છે.
