Shloka 18
तौ हि संजय दुःखार्तो विज्ञाप्यौ वचनाद्धि मे । इष्टं भृत्या भृता: सम्यग् भू: प्रशास्ता ससागरा
tau hi sañjaya duḥkhārto vijñāpyau vacanād dhi me | iṣṭaṃ bhṛtyā bhṛtāḥ samyag bhūḥ praśāstā sasāgarā ||
સંજયે કહ્યું—હે સંજય, મારી મૃત્યુવાર્તા સાંભળીને તે બંને માતા-પિતા નિશ્ચિત જ દુઃખથી વ્યાકુળ થશે. તેથી મારા વચન મુજબ તેમને જણાવજે—મેં વિધિપૂર્વક યજ્ઞો કર્યા, આશ્રિતોનું યોગ્ય પાલન કર્યું અને સમુદ્રસહિત ધરતીનું સારા રીતે શાસન કર્યું.
