Transliteration

pratiṣṭhā supratiṣṭhā ca rocamānā surocanā | naukarṇī mukhakarṇī ca viśirā manthinī tathā

Translation

વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા—(સ્ત્રીઓ) પ્રતિષ્ઠા અને સુપ્રતિષ્ઠા; રોચમાના અને સુરોચના; નૌકર્ણી અને મુખકર્ણી; તેમજ વિશિરા અને મન્થિની પણ હતી. યુદ્ધવૃત્તાંતની વચ્ચે આ નામસ્મરણ સ્મૃતિ અને વંશપરંપરાને સાચવે છે—હિંસામાં વ્યક્તિઓને માત્ર ઘટનામાં વિલીન ન થવા દેવાનો ધર્મભાવ.
