अस्मिन्नर्थे पुरा गीता श्रूयन्ते धर्मचिन्तकैः
asminn arthe purā gītā śrūyante dharmacintakaiḥ
On this very point, an ancient saying is heard—recalled by those who reflect upon dharma—serving as a moral precedent for judging the matter at hand.
संजय उवाच
Ethical judgment should be guided by remembered tradition and dharma-reflection: when a difficult issue arises, one may appeal to time-tested moral sayings preserved and cited by dharma-thinkers.
Sañjaya signals that, regarding the present situation, a traditional maxim is invoked—introducing an illustrative precedent that dharma-minded people cite to interpret and evaluate the unfolding events.
