Nāradasya Rājadharma-praśnāḥ

Nārada’s Examination of Royal Ethics

कच्चिदर्थेन वा धर्म धर्मेणार्थमथापि वा । उभौ वा प्रीतिसारेण न कामेन प्रबाधसे

kaccid arthena vā dharmaṁ dharmeṇārtham athāpi vā | ubhau vā prītisāreṇa na kāmena prabādhase ||

નારદ બોલ્યા—ધનના આસક્તિથી લાભ માટે શું તું ધર્મને હાનિ પહોંચાડતો તો નથી ને? અથવા માત્ર ધર્મમાં જ ચોંટીને યોગ્ય અર્થસાધનાની ઉપેક્ષા તો નથી કરતો ને? કે પછી મોહબળથી પ્રેરિત કામભોગમાં લિપ્ત થઈ ધર્મ અને અર્થ—બન્નેને નુકસાન તો નથી પહોંચાડતો ને?
