दशाहानि ततस्तप्त्वा भीष्म: पाण्डववाहिनीम् | निरविद्यत धर्मात्मा जीवितेन परंतप,परंतप! इस प्रकार दस दिनोंतक धर्मात्मा भीष्म पाण्डवसेनाको संतप्त करके अन्ततोगत्वा अपने जीवनसे ही ऊब गये
daśāhāni tatastaptvā bhīṣmaḥ pāṇḍavavāhinīm | niravidyat dharmātmā jīvitena parantapa ||
પરંતપ! આ રીતે દસ દિવસ સુધી પાંડવ-વાહિનીને સંતપ્ત કરીને ધર્માત્મા ભીષ્મ અંતે જીવનથી જ વિરક્ત થયો.
