Adhyāya 90: Babhruvāhana’s Reception and the Commencement of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Aśvamedha
श्षशुर उवाच अनेन नित्यं साध्वी त्वं शीलवृत्तेन शोभसे । या त्वं धर्मव्रतोपेता गुरुवृत्तिमवेक्षसे
śvaśura uvāca: anena nityaṁ sādhvī tvaṁ śīla-vṛttena śobhase | yā tvaṁ dharma-vrata-upetā guru-vṛttim avekṣase ||
શ્વશુરે કહ્યું—દીકરી! આ વર્તનથી તું સદા શીલ અને સદાચારથી શોભતી સાધ્વી સ્ત્રી તરીકે તેજસ્વી છે. તું ધર્મ અને વ્રતોના આચરણમાં તત્પર રહી ગુરુજનોની સેવા અને માનમાં જ દૃષ્ટિ રાખે છે; તેથી વહુ! હું તને પુણ્યથી વંચિત થવા દઈશ નહીં. મહાભાગે, ધર્માત્માઓમાં શ્રેષ્ઠે! પુણ્યાત્માઓમાં તારી ગણના કરીને તું આપેલું સત્તુ હું અવશ્ય સ્વીકારીશ।
