श्रीभगवानुवाच कृतो यत्नो मया पूर्व सौशाम्ये कौरवान् प्रति । नाशक्यन्त यदा साम्ये ते स्थापयितुमज्जसा
śrībhagavān uvāca kṛto yatno mayā pūrvaṃ sauśāmye kauravān prati | nāśakyanta yadā sāmye te sthāpayitum ajjasā ||
શ્રીભગવાન બોલ્યા—પૂર્વે મેં કૌરવો પ્રત્યે સંધિ અને શાંતિ માટે પ્રયત્ન કર્યો હતો; પરંતુ જ્યારે તેઓ સહેલાઈથી સમભાવમાં દૃઢપણે સ્થિર થઈ શક્યા નહીં, ત્યારે તે સુમેળ ટકી ન શક્યો.
