The Duty to Fulfill Promised Gifts
अपि चोदाहरन्तीमं धर्मशास्त्रविदो जना: । अश्वानां श्यामकर्णानां सहस्रेण स मुच्यते
api codāharantīmaṁ dharmaśāstravido janāḥ | aśvānāṁ śyāmakarṇānāṁ sahasreṇa sa mucyate ||
ભીષ્મ બોલ્યા— વધુમાં, ધર્મશાસ્ત્રના વિદ્વાનો આ ઉદાહરણ પણ આપે છે: જે પુરુષ પ્રતિજ્ઞાભંગના પાપમાં પડ્યો હોય, તે શ્યામકર્ણ (કાળા કાનવાળા) ઘોડાઓનું એક હજાર દાન કરીને તે દોષથી મુક્ત થાય છે.
