Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
इत्युक्त्वा तं शमीगर्भे वह्लिमालक्ष्य देवता:
ity uktvā taṃ śamīgarbhe vahnīm ālakṣya devatāḥ | sarvakarmabhyaḥ śamīm eva agneḥ pavitra-sthānaṃ niyatya | tataḥ prabhṛti agnidevaḥ śamyāḥ antar dṛśyate sma ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—આવું કહી દેવતાઓએ શમીના ગર્ભમાં અગ્નિનું દર્શન કર્યું. ત્યારબાદ સર્વ કર્મો માટે શમીને જ અગ્નિનું પવિત્ર અને વિધિસંમત નિવાસસ્થાન નિશ્ચિત કર્યું. ત્યારથી અગ્નિ શમીના અંદર પ્રગટ થવા લાગ્યો.
