Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
रौद्रे लोहितमित्याहुलोहितात् कनकं स्मृतम् । तन्मैत्रमिति विज्ञेयं धूमाच्च वसव: स्मृता:
raudre lohitam ity āhur lohitāt kanakaṃ smṛtam | tan maitram iti vijñeyaṃ dhūmāc ca vasavaḥ smṛtāḥ ||
વસિષ્ઠે કહ્યું—રૌદ્ર સ્વરૂપમાં તેને ‘લોહિત’ કહે છે; તે લોહિતમાંથી ‘કનક’ (સોનું) ઉત્પન્ન થાય છે એમ સ્મૃત છે. તે કનકને ‘મૈત્ર’—મિત્ર તત્ત્વસંબંધિત—જાણવું; અને ધુમાડામાંથી વસુઓની ઉત્પત્તિ કહેવાય છે.
