क्वचिदप्सरसां संघान्‌ गन्धर्वाणां च पार्थिव

Transliteration

kvacid apsarasāṃ saṅghān gandharvāṇāṃ ca pārthiva | pṛthvīnātha! kvacid jhuṇḍa-kī-jhuṇḍa apsarāḥ vihāraṃ kurvanti sma | kvacid gandharvāṇāṃ samudāyāḥ svapriyatamānām āliṅgana-pāśe baddhāḥ santi sma | tān sarvān rājā dadarśa | te kadācid enaṃ dṛśyante sma kadācin na dṛśyante sma ||

Translation

ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—હે રાજન, પૃથ્વીનાથ! ક્યાંક અપ્સરાઓના ટોળાં આનંદથી વિહાર કરતાં હતાં; ક્યાંક ગંધર્વોના સમૂહો પોતાની પ્રિયતમાઓના આલિંગન-પાશમાં બંધાયેલા જેવા દેખાતા હતાં. રાજાએ તે બધાને જોયા—પણ ક્યારેક દેખાતા અને ક્યારેક દેખાતા નહોતા।
