दम्भो हादम्भो वैदम्भो वश्यो वशकर: कलि: । लोककर्ता पशुपतिर्महाकर्ता हनौषध:
vāyudeva uvāca | dambho ’dambho vaidambho vaśyo vaśakaraḥ kaliḥ | lokakartā paśupatiḥ mahākartā anauṣadhaḥ ||
વાયુએ કહ્યું—તે શત્રુદમન કરનાર છે, છતાં દંભરહિત; દંભરહિતોનો આત્મીય; ભક્તોના વશમાં થનાર અને બીજાને વશ કરાવવાની શક્તિ ધરાવનાર. તે જ કલિયુગરূপ કાળ; લોકકર્તા, જીવનો સ્વામી (પશુપતિ), પંચમહાભૂતાદિ સમસ્ત સૃષ્ટિ રચનાર મહાકર્તા; અને અન્ન-ઔષધિ પર નિર્ભરતા થી પરે છે.
