ज्योतिर्भूत: परमोडसौ पुरस्तात् प्रकाशते यत्प्रभया विश्वरूप: । अप: सृष्टवा सर्वभूतात्मयोनि: पुराकरोत् सर्वमेवाथ विश्वम्
jyotirbhūtaḥ paramo 'sau purastāt prakāśate yatprabhayā viśvarūpaḥ | apaḥ sṛṣṭvā sarvabhūtātmayoniḥ purākarot sarvamevātha viśvam ||
ભીષ્મ બોલ્યા—તે પરમ જ્યોતિ પૂર્વ દિશામાં વિશ્વરૂપ ધારણ કરીને પ્રગટ થાય છે; તેની પ્રભાથી સમગ્ર જગત પ્રકાશિત થાય છે. તે જ સર્વ પ્રાણીઓનો અંતરાત્મા અને ઉત્પત્તિનું ગર્ભસ્થાન છે. પ્રાચીન કાળમાં પ્રથમ જળની સૃષ્ટિ કરીને પછી તેણે સમગ્ર વિશ્વ ઉત્પન્ન કર્યું.
