अध्याय १६ — शङ्कर-उमा-वरदानम् तथा तण्डि-स्तुतिः (Śaṅkara–Umā Boon-Granting and Taṇḍi’s Hymn)
दशनामसहस््राणि देवेष्वाह पितामह: । शर्वस्य शास्त्रेषु तथा दशनामशतानि च,पितामह ब्रह्माने पूर्वकालमें देवताओंके निकट महादेवजीके दस हजार नाम बताये थे और शास््त्रोंमें भी उनके सहस्र नाम वर्णित हैं
daśanāmasahasrāṇi deveṣv āha pitāmahaḥ | śarvasya śāstreṣu tathā daśanāmaśatāni ca ||
પૂર્વકાળમાં પિતામહ બ્રહ્માએ દેવતાઓ સમક્ષ શર્વ (મહાદેવ) ના દસ હજાર નામો કહ્યા હતા; તેમજ શાસ્ત્રોમાં પણ તેમના સૈકડો નામો વર્ણિત છે।
