अशोकस्तारणस्तार: शूर: शौरिजनिेश्वर: । अनुकूल: शतावर्त: पद्मी पद्मनिभेक्षण:
aśokas tāraṇas tāraḥ śūraḥ śaurir janeśvaraḥ | anukūlaḥ śatāvartaḥ padmī padmanibhekṣaṇaḥ ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—તે અશોક, સર્વ શોકથી રહિત; તारण, જે સંસારસાગરથી પાર ઉતારે; અને તાર, જે જન્મ-જરા-મૃત્યુના ભયથી ઉગારે. તે શૂર; શૌરી (વસુદેવનો પુત્ર); જનેશ્વર, સર્વ જીવોનો સ્વામી. તે અનુકૂલ, અંતર્યામી આત્મા હોવાથી સૌને હિતકારી; શતાવર્ત, ધર્મરક્ષાર્થે સૈકડો અવતાર લેતો; પદ્મી, કમલધારી; અને પદ્મનિભેક્ષણ, કમલ સમ কোমળ દૃષ્ટિવાળો।
