एको विष्णुर्महदभूतं पृथग्भूतान्यनेकश: । त्रीललोकान् व्याप्य भूतात्मा भुछुक्ते विश्वभुगव्यय:
eko viṣṇur mahadabhūtaṃ pṛthagbhūtāny anekaśaḥ | trīl lokān vyāpya bhūtātmā bhuṅkte viśvabhug avyayaḥ ||
ભીષ્મે કહ્યું—અવ્યય વિષ્ણુ એક જ છે; તે જ મહદ્ભૂતરૂપે (સમગ્ર જગતરૂપે) થયો છે અને અનેક રીતે વિભક્ત થઈ ભિન્ન-ભિન્ન ભૂતોના અનેક રૂપો ધારણ કરે છે. ત્રિલોકમાં વ્યાપીને સર્વ ભૂતોના અંતરાત્મા રૂપે તે વિશ્વભોક્તા છે.
