उमोवाच भगवन् संशयो मे<स्ति तन्मे व्याख्यातुमरहसि । चातुर्वर्ण्यस्य धर्म वै नैपुण्येन प्रकीर्तय
umovāca bhagavan saṁśayo me 'sti tan me vyākhyātum arhasi | cāturvarṇyasya dharmo vai naipuṇyena prakīrtaya ||
ઉમાએ કહ્યું—ભગવન્! મારા મનમાં હજી સંશય રહ્યો છે; તેથી તેની વ્યાખ્યા કરીને મને સમજાવો. ચાર વર્ણનો જે ધર્મ છે, તેને સંપૂર્ણ રીતે અને નિપુણતાથી પ્રકીર્તિત કરો.
