Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
पशुपतिवचनाद् भवामि सद्य: कृमिरथवा तरुरप्यनेकशाख: । अपशुपतिवरप्रसादजा मे त्रिभुवनराज्यविभूतिरप्यनिष्टा
paśupativacanād bhavāmi sadyaḥ kṛmir athavā tarur apy anekaśākhaḥ | apaśupativarprasādajā me tribhuvanarājyavibhūtir apy aniṣṭā ||
વાસુદેવે કહ્યું—ભગવાન પશુપતિના વચનથી હું તત્કાળ આનંદપૂર્વક કીડો પણ બની શકું, અનેક શાખાવાળું વૃક્ષ પણ બની શકું. પરંતુ પશુપતિ (શિવ) સિવાય બીજા કોઈના વર-પ્રસાદથી જો મને ત્રિભુવનનું રાજ્ય-વૈભવ મળે, તો તે પણ મને ઇચ્છનીય નથી.
