उपवासे बलौ चापि ताम्रपात्रं विशिष्यते । बलिकभभिक्षा तथार्घ्य च पितृणां च तिलोदकम्
Baladeva uvāca: upavāse balau cāpi tāmrāpātraṁ viśiṣyate | balikabhikṣā tathārghyaṁ ca pitṝṇāṁ ca tilodakam |
બલદેવે કહ્યું—ઉપવાસના સંકલ્પ અને બલિ-અર્પણમાં તામ્રપાત્ર વિશેષ ઉત્તમ માનવામાં આવે છે. પૂજાની સામગ્રી, ભિક્ષા, અર્ઘ્ય તથા પિતૃઓ માટે તિલમિશ્રિત જળ તામ્રપાત્ર દ્વારા જ આપવું જોઈએ; નહિંતર તેનું ફળ અત્યંત અલ્પ રહે છે. આ અત્યંત ગુપ્ત ઉપદેશ કહેવાયો છે. આ પ્રમાણે કરવાથી દેવતાઓ પ્રસન્ન થાય છે.
