Adhyāya 122 — Śruta-vṛtta-yukta Brāhmaṇa and the Ethics of Dāna

कीट उवाच इदं तदतुलं स्थानमीप्सितं दशभिर्गुणै: । यदहं प्राप्य कीटत्वमागतो राजपुत्रताम्
kīṭa uvāca idaṃ tad atulaṃ sthānam īpsitaṃ daśabhir guṇaiḥ | yad ahaṃ prāpya kīṭatvam āgato rājaputratām ||
કીટ (ક્ષત્રિય) બોલ્યો—ભગવન્! આજે મને તે અતુલ સ્થાન પ્રાપ્ત થયું છે, જેને હું દસ જન્મોમાં પણ મેળવવા ઇચ્છતો હતો. મારા જ દોષથી કીટયોનિમાં પડ્યો હોવા છતાં, તમારી કૃપાથી આજે હું રાજપુત્ર થયો છું.
