Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition

सा नियुक्ता पितुर्गेहे ब्राह्मणातिथिपूजने । उग्र॑ पर्यचरद्‌ घोरें ब्राह्मणं संशितव्रतम्‌

sā niyuktā pitur gehe brāhmaṇātithipūjane | ugraṁ paryacarad ghore brāhmaṇaṁ saṁśitavratam ||

વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા— પિતાના ઘરમાં રહેતી વખતે પૃથાને બ્રાહ્મણો અને અતિથિઓના પૂજન-સત્કારનું કાર્ય સોંપાયું હતું. એક વખત તેણે કઠોર વ્રતધારી, ઉગ્ર અને ભયંકર સ્વભાવના એક બ્રાહ્મણ મહર્ષિની સેવા કરી.
