King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
ब्रह्मणो ब्राह्मणानां च तथानुग्रहकाड्क्षया । विव्यास वेदान् यस्मात् स तस्माद् व्यास इति स्मृत:
brahmaṇo brāhmaṇānāṁ ca tathānugrahakāṅkṣayā | vivyāsa vedān yasmāt sa tasmād vyāsa iti smṛtaḥ ||
બ્રહ્મા અને બ્રાહ્મણો પર અનુગ્રહ કરવાની ઇચ્છાથી તેમણે વેદોનું વિસ્તરણ-વિભાજન કર્યું. તેથી તેઓ ‘વ્યાસ’ નામે સ્મરાય છે.
