मुष्टिभिर्जानुभिश्वैव निघ्नन्तावितरेतरम् । प्रकर्षणाकर्षणयोरभ्याकर्षविकर्षणै:
muṣṭibhir jānubhiś caiva nighnantāv itaretaram | prakarṣaṇākarṣaṇayor abhyākarṣa-vikarṣaṇaiḥ ||
વૈશંપાયન બોલ્યા—બન્ને ઘૂંસાઓ અને ઘૂંટણોથી એકબીજાને પ્રહાર કરવા લાગ્યા. ખેંચાતાણ અને ધક્કામુકીમાં ક્યારેક નજીક ખેંચતા, ક્યારેક દૂર ઠેલતા; હેતુ એક જ—પ્રતિસ્પર્ધીનું સંતુલન બગાડી તેને ધરાશાયી કરવો.
