The Birth of Kṛpa and Kṛpī; Kṛpa’s Attainment of Astras
महानदीनितम्बांश्न गहनान् गिरिगह्दरान् । सन्ति नित्यहिमा देशा निर्वक्षमृगपक्षिण:
mahānadī-nitambāṁś ca gahanān giri-gahvarān | santi nitya-himā deśā nirvṛkṣa-mṛga-pakṣiṇaḥ ||
વૈશમ્પાયન બોલ્યા—આ માર્ગમાં અમે મહાનદીઓના દુર્ગમ કાંઠા અને અનેક ગહન પર્વતીય ખીણો જોયા. અહીં કેટલાક પ્રદેશ એવા છે જ્યાં સદા હિમ જમેલું રહે છે—જ્યાં વૃક્ષોનું નામ પણ નથી અને મૃગ-પક્ષીઓનું અસ્તિત્વ પણ દેખાતું નથી.
