Adhyaya 89: शौचाचारलक्षणम् — सदाचार, भैक्ष्यचर्या, प्रायश्चित्त, द्रव्यशुद्धि, आशौच-निर्णय

चक्षुःपूतं चरेन्मार्गं वस्त्रपूतं जलं पिबेत् सत्यपूतं वदेद्वाक्यं मनःपूतं समाचरेत्

cakṣuḥpūtaṃ carenmārgaṃ vastrapūtaṃ jalaṃ pibet satyapūtaṃ vadedvākyaṃ manaḥpūtaṃ samācaret

આંખોથી તપાસીને શુદ્ધ કરેલો માર્ગ જ ચાલવો. વસ્ત્રથી ગાળી શુદ્ધ કરેલું જળ જ પીવું. સત્યથી શુદ્ધ વાણી બોલવી. અને મનથી શુદ્ધ કર્મ આચરવું.
