Suta Goswami (narrating Purāṇic dharma to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
It sets practical śauca standards for Shiva-pūjā—purifying offerings (vegetables, roots, fruits) like grains, keeping the worship-space clean by sweeping, and ensuring earthen vessels are ritually fit by re-baking.
Shiva as Pati is approached through disciplined purity: external cleanliness supports inner śuddhi of the pashu (bound soul), reducing pasha (impurity/bondage) that obstructs steady worship and grace.
Ritual śauca as a preparatory limb of Shiva-pūjā—cleaning the altar-space and properly purifying materials and vessels—supporting the focused mind required for Pāśupata-oriented devotion and practice.
