Surya and Related Abhisheka/ Cosmological Determinations
candraṛkṣagrahāḥ sarve vijñeyāḥ sūryasaṃbhavāḥ nakṣatrādhipatiḥ somo nayanaṃ vāmamīśituḥ
Suta Goswami
It frames the luminaries as limbs of Īśa, supporting Linga-upāsanā where the devotee worships the universe as Shiva’s manifested form (sakala), while remembering Him as the transcendent Pati beyond it.
Shiva is implied as the Īśa whose ‘eyes’ are cosmic powers; He is Pati—the conscious Lord who governs the grahas and nakṣatras, while pashus (souls) remain bound by pāśa unless they turn their vision toward Him.
A contemplative upāsanā is suggested: during japa or Linga-pūjā, meditate on Soma as the left eye of Īśa and align one’s inner sight (dṛṣṭi) to transcend graha-influence through devotion and Shaiva discipline.
