FAQs

It establishes the Liṅga as the foremost expression of Shiva’s presence among all sacred forms and signals that its greatness will be taught systematically, supporting Liṅga-pūjā as a primary Shaiva practice.

By privileging the Liṅga-form above other forms, it points to Shiva as Pati whose transcendent reality is best indicated by the Liṅga—an aniconic sign that leads the paśu (soul) beyond name-and-form toward liberation from pāśa (bondage).

While no single rite is named, the verse frames a structured exposition that typically grounds Liṅga-pūjā and Shaiva sādhana—devotional worship joined with contemplative focus on the Liṅga as the support (ālambana) for inner Pāśupata-oriented discipline.
