“તમને દહન કરવા માટે મને પણ મુનિશ્રેષ્ઠોએ મોકલ્યો છે”—એવું કહી ગણપુંગવે તે યજ્ઞશાળાને દહાવી દીધી।
Suta Goswami (narrating; internal action by a Shiva-gana)
It shows that sacrifice devoid of surrender to Pati (Śiva) becomes a pasha (bond), and its “burning” signifies the purification of ritual into true Śiva-oriented worship, the spirit behind Linga-pūjā.
Śiva-tattva operates as Pati—upholding dharma yet dissolving egoistic religiosity; through His gaṇas He can withdraw sanction from actions that reinforce bondage rather than liberate the paśu (soul).
A warning is implied: mere external yajña is insufficient; the Shaiva path emphasizes inner surrender, purification, and Śiva-bhakti/Śiva-dhyāna—principles aligned with Pāśupata discipline over ritual display.
