FAQs

Indirectly: it frames liberation-oriented religion through darśana (sacred beholding). By honoring Śiva’s liṅga, the devotee aligns with the Lord’s grace—suggesting that spiritual fulfillment ultimately depends on divine favor rather than mere external action.

The practice emphasized is darśana and bhakti: mindful pilgrimage and reverent viewing of the liṅga as a yogic act of focused attention (ekāgratā) that ripens into grace (anugraha), a theme compatible with Pāśupata-oriented devotion in the Kurma tradition.

Within the Kurma Purana’s integrative theology, praising Śiva’s tīrtha and liṅga is not opposed to Vaiṣṇava devotion; it supports the Purāṇa’s Shaiva–Vaiṣṇava synthesis where devotion to either form participates in the same overarching dharma and divine order.
