Brahmā’s Creation: The Kumāras, Rudra, the Prajāpatis, and the Manifestation of Vedic Sound

In Canto 3, Chapter 12, this verse lists several names of Rudra—such as Manyu, Bhava, Kāla, Vāmadeva, and Dhṛtavrata—showing his many functions and aspects within cosmic administration.
Because the chapter narrates Rudra’s emergence during creation; the many names highlight his diverse roles—fierce and auspicious, time-bound and vow-bound—within Brahmā’s unfolding cosmos.
Remembering Kāla encourages urgency in spiritual practice, while Dhṛtavrata inspires steadiness—keeping vows (sādhana, truthfulness, discipline) even amid change.
